Games tagged with this contain scenarios in which the player is suddenly and unexpectedly presented with material that could cause stress, be it something threatening or dangerous, a sudden loud noise, something visually disturbing, etc. Even in instances in which such situations may be able to be predicted by foreshadowing, etc, because the precise moment of the event's occurrence cannot be easily pinpointed, it would still qualify as a jump scare and therefore be tagged as such.
