GamePhobias is a small company, and our mission--to make gaming a safe environment for gamers, their friends, and their families--is a big one. Reviewing each and every game in the kind of detail we would like to like is difficult and time-consuming, and each and every week, yet more games are released and added to our to-review list. If you are interested in helping us, listed below we have included several tools or methods with which you can help us complete our mission:

Review Games For GamePhobias:

Please keep in mind that our reviews are meant to give information to players and their loved ones, not to pass judgement on whether or not something should or should not be triggering. As such, we encourage our reviewers to tag content in games even if the content is minor or does not seem problematic.

We would also like to note that any content submitted becomes the property of GamePhobias. While we will stay true to the content of the review, we may edit them for minor grammatical errors and add to them based on other reviews, our own experience with the game, or comments made about the review once it is posted.

  • Visit the Verification Needed page. Regardless of the review, to ensure quality we do not post a game review without secondary verification of the CATs for that game or without verifying them ourselves. Thus, we post games that we have reviews for but do not have immediate access to on this page. We ask that anyone who does have access to these games submit a review for verification so we can get the review up as soon as possible. Submit reviews to submissions@gamephobias.com.
  • Review already submitted games. Check out the Incomplete Review page and either use the discussion tab for that game's page or e-mail us at submissions@gamephobias.com with the subject line "Game Name: Correction" to help us complete the pages. You can also look at completed reviews and let us know if we're missing anything or if information is incorrect.
  • Take our an online survey that readers can submit reviews to. It goes over each of our Content Advisory Tags one by one. It will provide a description of what our standards are for classifying a game as qualifying for possessing each Content Advisory tag along with a prompt for whether or not the game being reviewed contains that kind of content. When filling out this form, if a game seems to come close to qualifying for a C.A.T., it is better to include the information than to exclude it. We are aiming for keeping gaming safe and thusly generally have a policy of 'better safe than sorry." This is currently unavailable. We are programming a personalized survey and will post it as soon as possible. Please use the downloadable review form below for the time being.
  • Complete Online Game Review Worksheet
    • This is a link to a downloadable text file that we encourage gamers to fill out as they play games, be they new ones, or ones that gamers have played before. It is a list containing each of our Content Advisory Tags with a space next to each one where a player may add notes regarding a game's content as they play. This is a useful way to keep track of content to later be submitted to our Online Game-Review Form, as keeping track of the relevant content of an entire game over the course of a play-through can be difficult. Please e-mail these to submissions@gamephobias.com with the subject line "Game Name: Review".
  • For those gamers who don't have time to perform full reviews of games, or simply notice a particular element in an existing review is lacking, we have provided a quick content review form, in which individuals can list the name of the game they are describing the content of, check a checklist regarding all the C.A.T.s their review covers, and then a text box in which reviewers can add a description of the content that qualifies for the C.A.T.s. This is currently unavailable. We are programming a personalized survey and will post it as soon as possible. Please use the downloadable review form above for the time being.
  • Talk-Pages
    • Once a game has had a page created for it, readers are encouraged to comment and discuss the status of the current review and Content Advisory Tags listed for that game, suggesting that other tags be included, or perhaps suggesting that the inclusion of certain tags is unwarranted.

Support GamePhobias LLC!

  • Tell Your Friends!
    • The best advertising is and always has been word of mouth. We at GamePhobias would love it if you shared us around. Increased readership means more game reviews and more people who can in turn benefit from those reviews. One of the easiest ways to spread the word is to follow and repost our social media, which you can find on Tumblr at http://gamephobias.tumblr.com, our twitter handle is @GamePhobias, and our Facebook page will be launching soon. In addition, you can print a flyer (available here) and post it in public spaces or in game stores that have given you the permission to do so.
  • Donate!
    • GamePhobias is a small business supported entirely by ads and donations. Our ads aren't the kind that get us money if you click on them; they're just there in exchange for a small compensation. We get more compensation (generally) if more people see the advertisements, so disabling any Ad-blocking program you use for our site would help us. If you are interested in supporting GamePhobias financially, we've added a donate button via paypal to the lower left-hand side of the screen. If you think we do a good job, want to say thanks, or just feel like throwing a few cents at someone to push your online accounts to a nice, even number, please consider donating to us!

For Game Developers:

  • If you are a member of a game-development company, it is likely that you will know your games better than anyone. If you are interested in helping us in our mission to keep gaming safe, we would encourage you to fill out the full game-review survey above. If you are interested in discussing things with us more directly, feel free to contact us at gamephobiaswiki@gmail.com
