Through politics, death, and the ever-present masquerade the vampire struggles to find their place in this new, supernatural world as the eve of a supposed apocalypse looms.

The Player Character’s sire is beheaded on screen in the opening cutscene.

One major quest is to investigate the disappearance of a bounty hunter. This takes you to Mr. Gimble, a man who cuts off others’ body parts. He will attack the Player Character in an attempt to do this.

In Mr. Gimble’s shop, the Player Character finds a man who has had a finger cut off. The finger is not visible.

Mr. Gimble’s shop gives the Player Character a severed arm as a weapon.

A torso missing limbs is found in Mr. Gimble’s basement.

In the 609 King’s Way house, the main enemy reveals that he has been purposefully twisting humans into monsters. This is not shown on screen.

Bones

A skeleton is found on a bed at the end of the Grout’s mansion level.

There are skeletons in the sewer section after 609 King’s Way and the Nosferatu haven.

Blood

Blood is present on the opening screen.

Blood is ever-present throughout the game. The Player Character drinks blood and gives blood to others. Blood is also an unavoidable side effect of combat and several Non-Player Characters bleed copious amounts of blood in cutscenes.

While investigating DMP productions for Isaac’s movie quest, the Player Character will encounter enemies that explode in a shower of blood when killed.

If the player chooses to side against Lacroix, they will have to go through Lacroix’s tower. To do this, they must be inside an elevator when the elevator breaks down. The Player Character also must crawl through a small pipe.

Darkness

The haunted house that the Player Character goes to for Therese uses darkness and shadow to frighten the player. There are areas that are extremely dark and ghosts will appear out of nowhere in some areas. This quest is required to complete the game.

Dead Bodies

Enemies briefly stay as dead bodies on screen after they are killed. They will disappear after a short time.

Dead bodies in various stages of mutilation and decay are found in every combat level, i.e. every location the Player Character goes to in order to complete a quest. They are all graphically rendered.

After completing the Society of Leopold quest, when the Player Character goes back to Lacroix to report there are dead bodies littered around the building. This is required to complete the game.

The main boss of this area will insist it is because the Player Character is subhuman and must be studied to “find the most efficient way to kill you”. During this time he will refer to the Player Character as “the subject” and often not address them directly.

In the Sabbat hideout there are people standing around with their eyes gauged out. They are ostensibly there as food for the Sabbat vampires. They cannot react to anything and will stand there until fed upon.

Depiction of Disaster

After speaking with Johansen during the Society of Leopold quest, Bach will detonate explosives in the caves. There is a loud explosion noise and the entire area begins to shake similar to an earthquake. The Player Character must escape in a certain time limit or die.

Electrocution

The Brujah power Potence creates electricity around the vampire’s hands and when the vampire hits an enemy this electricity transfers to the enemy. This can be somewhat avoided by not using Potence as a Brujah, but other vampires will use it in the game.

If the player chooses to side with Lacroix, the Anarchs, or chooses to go it alone at the end of the game, Lacroix will open the sarcophagus to reveal bombs have been planted inside. Then Lacroix Tower will be blown up. This also happens if the player chooses to open the sarcophagus.

The enemies in Grout’s mansion appear to be patients that he has tortured. They have torturous looking devices strapped to their bodies and faces.

Mental Health Institutions

Grout’s mansion, though not an official mental health institution, was apparently remodeled by Grout to become one. There are cells and other hallmarks in the basement. Grout is obviously abusive towards his “patients”. It is unclear where these “patients” come from.
